A view of the front as of the end of March. The front of the home is a work in progress. It will feature a Hardi paneling product and the columns in front will be boxed out around the posts. The front door is in design and will also be one of a kind.
The front covered porch is almost complete. The entry of the home will be one of a kind….
The windows are in! We went with a dark bronze commercial painted window to match some commercial windows that we are doing in the home….
The windows are arriving tomorrow so the openings are ready to go.
The guys are almost completed framing in the back deck with large beams, and we’ll have it sheeted and roofed in the next day.
Yet another visit by the crane allows us to set the rear double deck posts and top of the roof. The posts are 30’ long and are 8’ by 8’. They are lam beams made out of port orford cedar in order to last as long as possible. The house is wrapped and as soon as the covered deck roof can be completed we can be completely dried in.
An updated view…
A sunny day to roll the rest of the roof trusses!
A close look at the low pitch roof trusses from inside the future home. The 4/12 pitch with the swooping overhangs are in homage to Prairie Style architecture. This home will be dubbed an “Industrial Prairie” named after its architectural influences…
The trusses arrive!
